Lingualearn Tests
Silver Service Language Tests
Consultants from the Lingualearn network are able to offer a very fast and flexible language testing service. We can test at almost any time and anywhere. The tests use well-designed criterion-referenced rating scales. These tests are suitable for screening applicants for positions that require language skills. Our telephone and email tests take about 45 minutes and cost around £100 per test for French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish and Italian. Each test is followed by a report on the language skills of the testee, and an estimate of their general language proficiency. Quotations are available for large numbers of tests and for other languages. Where necessary, our tests include a security system to ensure the correct identity of the testee.
Gold Service Language Tests
For senior appointments, we suggest a longer and more reliable test taking about two hours, with multiple raters to obtain a relatively high inter-rater reliability coefficient. Each test is followed by a detailed report on the language skills of the testee, and an estimate of their general language proficiency. Quotations are available on request, but the cost of such tests is in the region of £160 per test.
Can-do Instruments
We have developed a number of can-do scales that can be used for proficiency, diagnotic and placement testing.
These can-do instruments:
- are low cost (~£40 per student-test; minimum of 15 tests; lower cost available for academic research purposes)
- are fast to administer and mark
- are easy to use
- give a rough estimate of proficiency
- give information on what students can do in all 4 skills
- can be sent by email
The versions currently available are for English speakers being tested in any foreign language:
- SEI4: Languages for academic purposes (not sensitive at low proficiency levels)
- SEI5: Languages for academic purposes
- BSKILLS4: Languages for business purposes
With certain precautions, the instruments may also be used by non-native speakers of English who have elementary + level in English. SEI5 is also avalable in Chinese.

Auralog Tests
Auralog tests are available for the following languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Auralog Placement Test
With the Auralog Placement Test you can assess your employees' different language skills according to the language-related demands of your professional environment.
Specially-adapted tests to evaluate and confirm your employees' language skills.

Auralog Certification Test
Main features:
- During the 1.5-hour-long test your employees will be tested on written and listening comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary. It guarantees an objective assessment for your emplyee’s language levels and allows for comparison with the levels form.
- You can also very easily use this test for recruitment, thereby establishing a reputable standard in selecting future employees.
- You can also access the detailed test results for each person as soon as the test has been completed.
Language tests are £25 for the placement test, £50 for the certification test (minimum sale: 100 tests)

VL TestS
The VL test is available for the following languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
The test lasts approximately 45 minutes, and you need to complete it in one sitting.

Bright Tests
We are also able to offer Bright Tests online only - these are fast and reliable tests of English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Flemish & Dutch.
The cost of such tests is in the region of £30 to £45 per test + VAT.

ORDINATE TESTS
These are automated telephone tests of spoken English. The tests last 5, 7 or 10 minutes and are immediately scored by a computer. Testees are given a variety of exercises to complete e.g. repeat sentences, answer short questions and build sentences.
The cost of such tests is currently:
- £3000 per 100 tests for the SET10 (10 minute tests)
- £2500 per 100 tests for the SET7 (7 minute tests)
- £2000 per 100 tests for the SET5 (5 minute tests)
